Motorcycle License
Who can get one
To apply for a Cyprus Driving License or take a Cyprus Driving Test, one must be a resident of Cyprus and provide proof of living in the country for at least six months, in compliance with EU directives.
Since January 19, 2013, the current driving license requirements for motorcycles have been regulated by Law 79(I)/2012. However, there are some inconsistencies between the EU Directive and the Cyprus legislation, which the EU Commission is currently analyzing in detail. The Commission has pledged to take the necessary steps to ensure that the Cypriot legislation fully and accurately transposes Directive 2006/126/EC.
Currently, the entry level for motorcycle licenses is category A1, and a rider must pass the riding test for Class A1 motorcycles before advancing to larger motorcycles.
